Are They For Real?

In the A.L. Kansas City, Seattle, and Toronto have started the season on a good note, but are they for real? In the N.L. Pittsburgh, Florida, and St. Louis have also started on a good note, but the same question applies. Are they for real? Kansas City has made major improvements, and I feel that with the addition of Mike Jacobs, and Coco Crisp, they will be able to go against the odds and win their division. The Mariners have had additions (Griffey Jr.) and some subtractions (J.J. Putz), but I feel that they aren't strong enough to be a true contender. The Blue Jays have had a great stat, but I just can't see them winning their division, let alone the wild card. The Pirates haven't done enough to secure a playoff spot. They don't have pitching. The Marlins have a good offense and a strong pitching staff. Although I feel that they can't compete with the Phillies and Mets, they are a good team. The Cardinals have a good offense, and good starting pitching, but their bullpen isn't very strong. I feel that they can compete to win the Wild Card, but they need a proven closer. So in retrospect, I think the Royals, Marlins, and Cardinals are for real, and the Mariners, Blue Jays, and Pirates aren't for real.
